Engines A choice of a 1.0 litre VVT-i petrol engine with its 4.6 litres/ 100km fuel consumption or a 1.4 litre turbocharged diesel engine (4.1 litres/ 100km) offers high performance allied to fuel efficiency and a low C0<sub>2</sub> emission of 109g/km, making the AYGO more than a match for life on the city streets.

Design Interior Space For a compact car, AYGO is remarkably roomy. Both 3 and 5 door versions are just 3.4m long, yet inside there's class-leading space and loads of headroom for 4 adults - up to 1.91m tall.
Comfort and durability The AYGO's sporty and dynamic design wrapped up in a stylish finish reflects its agile performance around the city, offering complete driving comfort. The quality fabric seats are sporty and comfortable. The dashboard sports a "sharkskin" graining, which is hard-wearing and scratch-resistant.
Detail and functionality Attention to detail is a hallmark of AYGO. The cabin features a small, single instrument panel with modern, easy-to-read, two-tone displays. This uncluttered sporting look continues with the compact central console that contains an optional radio/CD with up to four speakers and two tweeters, and auxiliary music input, to plug-in your MP3 device player. This central console is also where you'll find the backlit controls for the climate controls.

Storage and flexibility The luggage compartment offers 139 litres of space simultaneously housing a spare tyre. This is further complemented by 25 litres of storage offered by door pockets, 8 trays, 3 cup-holders and a coin case.
Performance Freedom and mobility With a name that symbolizes freedom and mobility, the new AYGO by Toyota has been designed to offer independence for a new urban generation, offering a responsive driving experience and the freedom to just get up and go, as well as class-leading fuel economy and low C0<sub>2</sub> emissions, which is to be expected from Toyota's 1.0-litre VVT-i and 1.4-litre turbo diesel engines.
Urban parking City living requires a car that is both practical and easy to park. The AYGO'S compact exterior dimensions favors the busy urban environment and with a 3.4m body length it is one of the shortest 4-seaters on the market.
Easy manoeuvring and stable overhang The AYGO is fitted with both ABS and speed-sensitive Electric Power Steering (EPS) as standard, a major advantage in city traffic, and the optimized suspension contributes to its overall stability, good handling, quick cornering and nippiness, helped by the AYGO's innovative wheel positioning. Wide front and rear tyre treads also mean higher stability when dealing with quick lane changes.
Safety Safety The AYGO has been awarded a four-star rating by the Euro NCAP testing programme for its adult occupant safety. One of the AYGO's key features is its sturdy safety structure, which effectively dissipates the energy of frontal and side impacts throughout the body. Every AYGO also features safety technology such as twin front airbags as standard, ABS with EBD braking and a seatbelt warning system.
Active safety Every AYGO has an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to help maintain control during sudden heavy braking and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), which optimises the brake force balance between all four wheels. In addition the AYGO's headlights have an illumination range of more than 80 meters (low beam) - providing safer night driving.
Passenger safety Each front seatbelt incorporates pre-tensioners and force limiters to provide added protection. SRS driver and front passenger airbags are fitted on every vehicle, with SRS side airbags as standard on AYGO+. To complement safety, SRS curtain shield airbags are also available as an option.
Impact safety The AYGO features Toyota's own Minimal Intrusion Cabin System (MICS), a crash-resistant body structure that effectively reduces the risk of serious injury during impact. MICS works according to the principle of quickly dissipating front or side impact energy through the safety structure, before it causes high levels of passenger injury and reduction of survival space.
Body strength More than 50% of the AYGO's bodyshell adopts high-tensile steel, especially employed in key areas in order to improve torsional stiffness and impact protection. High-tensile steel features almost double the yield tensile strength of conventional steels. Its application throughout the body allows not only higher stiffness but also lower weight by using thinner sheet metal.
Pedestrian protection Being specifically engineered for the urban environment, the AYGO pays a great deal of attention to pedestrian protection. Key areas of the front section feature energy absorption structures that minimise injury in the event of an impact with a pedestrian.
