12 Airbags There are a total of 12 airbags, including chest and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger, plus side airbags. Curtain shield airbags, which protect passengers from side impacts, are instantly triggered if sensors detect that the vehicle is in a collision or rolling over.
Active headrests Active headrests are provided, which move up and forward almost instantly in the event of a rear-end collision. These both work to protect the neck area in rear impacts.
Multi-terrain ABS and Brake Assist <p>The Multi-terrain Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) adapts to a range of surfaces – gravel, sand, asphalt and more – and helps maintain control during sudden heavy braking or when braking on a slippery surface.</p><p> </p><p>It achieves this by electronically balancing the braking force between all four wheels to match the level of grip of each. By analysing the speed and force of the brake pedal, Brake Assist (BA) detects the driver’s intention to brake in an emergency and produces strong braking force accordingly.</p>
VSC Vehicle Stability Control The VSC system actively intervenes when it senses that the vehicle is at risk of sliding out of control. In extreme conditions, it applies the brakes to the appropriate wheel to help bring the vehicle back to its intended path.
VGR Steering System <p>The Variable Gear-Ratio Steering System (VGRS) seamlessly adapts steering characteristics to suit your type of driving.</p><p> </p><p>At low speed, or when manoeuvring, the steering feels light and very responsive, giving significant changes of direction with just small movements of the steering wheel. However, at higher speed, the steering gets firmer.</p><p> </p><p>This results in a relaxing drive, where minute movements of the steering wheel do not cause the car to move off line. As you slow down, the steering becomes more responsive again.</p>
