Driving Smooth and level Land Cruiser features independent suspension to ensure all wheels move independently. Optional air suspension provides superior ride comfort, as well as the ability to raise or drop the height by 30 mm at the touch of a button. Improved double wishbone suspension on the front wheels copes with the higher demands of both on- and off-road driving.

With Toyota Electronically Modulated Suspension (TEMS)*, you set the shock absorber settings to comfort, semi-comfort, semi-sport or sport. The suspension actively responds to sharp corners, braking and uneven roads, creating a more natural feel on bumpy surfaces.

Active Traction Control* A-TRC is an intelligent form of traction control that keeps Land Cruiser moving in the most adverse conditions on- and off-road. A-TRC can actually apply brake force to one wheel that may be slipping while distributing power evenly between the three that are not. The result is that wheels with grip always get power, while the ones that slip receive the appropriate traction control.

Vehicle Stability Control* The VSC system actively intervenes when it senses that the vehicle is at risk of sliding out of control. It applies the brakes to the appropriate wheel to help bring the vehicle back to its intended path.

Secure going up or down <strong>Downhill Assist Control</strong><br />
When descending a very steep slope DAC automatically brakes and releases each wheel when vehicle speed exceeds that of the wheel. The system also works when Land Cruiser is reversing, aiming to maintain a 3-5 km/h descent speed. When moving forward, DAC aims to maintain a 5–7 km/h speed for stable hill descent.
<br /><br /><strong>Hill-start Assist Control</strong><br />
Land Cruiser is the first vehicle in the world with HAC. It allows safe and confident starts on steep and slippery slopes, as well as detecting if the vehicle is starting to slip down backwards. The system detects slipping wheels and applies traction control while braking the wheels with available grip, allowing the driver to pull away without losing control.

Available with either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic tranmission, this innovative engine makes the Land Cruiser a premium off-road performer. It delivers 410 Nm/1600–2800 rpm (5 A/T) of torque and 127 kW (173 DIN hp)/3400 rpm of power.

4.0l V6 VVT-i engine <strong>Most powerful Land Cruiser ever launched</strong><br /><br />
With a higher output than any other petrol engine rival, the 183 kW (249 DIN hp)/5200 rpm, 4.0 litre, 24-valve V6 engine delivers 380 Nm/3800 rpm of torque.
<br /><br />
It comes with a 5-speed automatic tranmission and offers superior overall performance, combining acceleration of 0–100 km/h in 9.1 seconds with fuel economy of 12.3 litres/100 km*. Plus, the low levels of noise and vibration deliver a saloon-like driving experience.

Safety Safe & stable braking The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) helps maintain control during sudden heavy braking or when braking on a slippery surface, by electronically balancing the braking force between all four wheels to match the level of grip of each.
<br /><br />
Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) complements this by apportioning braking power to the front and rear or left and right wheels of the vehicle, depending on weight and brake loading conditions. This helps maintain stability during straight-line braking, as well as through the corners.
<br /><br />
By analysing the speed and force of the brake pedal, Brake Assist (BA) detects the driver’s intention to brake in an emergency. BA produces strong braking force accordingly.
Protection for you and your passengers Land Cruiser has full-sized, two-stage Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags for both front passenger and driver. It has optional SRS side airbags for the front seats, as well as optional SRS side curtain airbags for the front and second row.

There are also three-point seatbelts for all passengers. For front seat occupants, these have pre-tensioners.
Safely contained Land Cruiser delivers class-leading crash resistance. It benefits from an extremely strong body and specially designed deformable areas at the front and rear. Also, the chassis can safely absorb large amounts of energy in the event of an impact.
