No more searching for the car key Instead of a conventional key, the Prius provides an optional Smart Entry & Start System. Bright idea The Prius makes use of LED brake lights. These use less energy than conventional bulbs yet illuminate more quickly, benefitting other road users as well as the environment.
Big and roomy With generous legroom for five adults, the Prius cabin is ergonomically designed for maximum flexibility. All seats have a 575 mm hip point height, offering commanding views and making getting in and out easier. Plus, the front seats fold back flat, like beds.
Flexible space Back seats have a 60:40 split for longer loads. They fold down to create any one of four combinations, from three seats to an open space. Even the innovative battery doesn’t compromise space: it’s positioned under the boot. Moreover, there’s 408 litres of extra storage space under the boot deck.
Interior Standard 4-spoke leather steering wheel The Prius steering wheel features integrated controls for added comfort and convenience. Adjust the climate and audio settings without taking your hands from the wheel. Rich sound, iPod compatible The Prius comes standard with a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system. Controls are mounted on the steering wheel for added convenience. Inside the centre floor console is an audio mini-jack to run your iPod or other personal audio system through the car’s speakers and recharge it at the same time.

The Prius is the cleanest car in its segment*: its emissions are 40% lower than the 2005 European standards. While CO2 emissions rival small city cars, NOx and HC emissions are lower than any other petrol car on the road. Particle emissions are reduced to zero.

Safety 5-star safety ranking The Toyota Prius has been awarded the maximum five-star ranking by Euro NCAP, scoring a class-best 34 points. It also the first car ever to achieve 43 points for child protection. The smart engineering of a strong, but lightweight chassis sets Prius apart.

Intelligent braking The Prius’ suite of electronic braking components is integrated into the car’s electronic active safety system and, in an emergency, is coordinated by the system, along with its other elements.

Anti-lock braking (ABS) helps maintain control when braking suddenly or on a slippery surface, Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) complements ABS by optimising brake force where it is required. And Brake Assist (BA) supplements braking force when necessary.
Improved control Vehicle Stability Control (VSC+) works with electric power steering by providing the appropriate steering torque assist to enable the driver to move the steering wheel more quickly. This improves steering reaction time. It also reduces the potential for skidding by controlling the drive force and brakes in an emergency stop.

Electric Traction Control (E-TRC) automatically reduces engine power if wheelspin is detected in the drive wheels when accelerating. It also adjusts braking pressure to help restore traction and makes acceleration and deceleration control easier.
Superior protection Inside the Prius, advanced passenger protection has been incorporated into the design. Front crumple zones and a total of 8 airbags (SRS front, side and curtain shield airbags) ensure passengers will be protected from harm.

The front adjustable seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force-limiters help reduce the likelihood of chest injuries in an accident.
