Total Cost of Ownership - TCO
International Fleet Managers have identified Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) as the most important purchase criteria.
The major part of Total Cost of Ownership is depreciation, which can account for over 50 % of the total operating cost. However, Toyota’s strong focus on quality, durability and reliability contribute significantly to a good residual value position, relative to our closest competitors.
According to the independent Schwacke Automobile Index, Toyota fleet cars are ranked among the top models in terms of residual value. Therefore Toyota can offer a competitive Total Cost of Ownership in the European fleet market.
Toyota is also renowned for manufacturing some of the world’s most reliable cars. This simply means the cars spend less unscheduled time in the workshop, and more time on the road, resulting in a lower actual cost of maintenance over the vehicle’s life.
Toyota continuously takes TCO into account in the design process, the product planning, and the development stage of their cars. TCO is truly embedded in its fleet strategy.
