Diesel Clean Advanced Technology is Toyota's innovative solution for reducing harmful exhaust emissions to levels far below the EURO IV standards.
Using an Exhaust Port Injector (EPI) which injects fuel into the exhaust gas flow the DPNR catalyst effectively reduces both NOx and PM emissions. A high-efficiency Exhaust Gas Recirculation cooler (EGR) reduces the temperature of the exhaust gasses to increase their density and improve performance.
The Diesel Particulate Filter catalyst purifies hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide but also simultaneously reduces particulate matter. The particulate matter is trapped in the filter’s substrate walls. The engine management system then burns off the soot so that the DPF is self-cleaning and requires no long-term maintenance.
